"We had an overnight stay and cannot fault the hotel. The bath requires a review of it's own! We had dinner and breakfast - both meals were delicious and beautifully presented. The bar was relaxed with a rather enjoyable cocktail menu! The staff could not do enough for us and it's location (opposite Ely Cathedral) was ideal for visiting the Cathedral itself and exploring Ely. One tip - ask for a room at the front so that you can get a view of the Cathedral. Yes, you overlook the road but there was no traffic noise whatsoever."

"Wonderful hotel in heart of the city. Recently architected throughout combining the period with modern elegance. Our room was bright and spacious with views of the cathedral and only minutes walk away from all attractions. The food was outstanding and you must experience! Very modern minded chef who produced the most exquisite tasting food. I must make mention of Paula on reception who is a credit to this hotel. Yes we will return"

A lovely character property that has undergone modernisation. Lovely colours. Very clean and tidy. Lots of space to hang around and relax. The courtyard and outside seating areas were very nice also. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome.

Great Location lovely room
We booked a superior room with the bath in the room, we were not disappointed we overlooked the green and the views to the cathedral. Low level lighting provided a lovely room ambience, the bathroom was a nice size with a great shower. The bar area & dining room were very nice. The breakfast was really tasty lovely bacon and it all tasted fresh. Considering Covid -19 there was plenty of hand sanitiser around & everyone observing the rules.

Poet’s Christmas
The team at Poets House accommodated us at very short notice when the government’s roulette wheel meant we had to cancel plans to go further from home and for that we were very grateful in itself but not only did they rustle up two of their best rooms but also squeezed us in (in a Covid secure way, I hasten to add) for dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas luncheon.
Everything was lovely- the rooms warm, spacious and comfortable with wonderful bathrooms, and there were plenty of festive touches and minimal coronafuss. A big thank you to all concerned, and my advice to readers - do treat yourself to a meal or stay here when you are in Ely!

Beautiful hotel, great service
The staff were really helpful throughout my stay and the room was fabulous! Limited menu due to this being a business stay during lockdown but the food provided was good. The pillows. The mattress. The bath! The view of the cathedral. The bath!! Simply luxurious. Thank you!
