The room can accommodate up to 50 guests with non-exclusive use, or up to 70 guests with exclusive use, offering flexibility for both intimate and larger celebrations. With its soft, neutral tones, the space serves as a beautiful canvas for your personal touches, reflecting your individual style while creating a warm and inviting backdrop for your vows.
Drinks Reception
Following your ceremony, celebrate with a drinks reception in the elegant surroundings of Poets House.
Our private courtyard garden provides a beautiful setting for photographs, laughter, and lasting memories.
This moment offers the perfect pause - time to toast, mingle, and savour the first moments of married life.
On cooler or rainy days, our stylish and elegant lounge provides a comfortable and inviting alternative.
Wedding Breakfast
Your wedding breakfast is a relaxed highlight of your celebration, bringing your guests together to enjoy exceptional food and drink.
Our Head Chef and talented kitchen team craft delicious, thoughtfully prepared menus using the finest locally sourced ingredients. We also offer a range of wines and toast drinks, chosen to perfectly complement your meal and elevate your experience.
Whether you envision an elegant dining experience or a relaxed meal, each detail is designed to make your wedding breakfast truly memorable.
The Writing Room can accommodate up to 50 guests with non-exclusive use, or up to 70 with exclusive use, while our Boardroom offers a more intimate setting for up to 18 guests for a sit-down meal.
Evening Reception
After your wedding breakfast, the day gently unfolds into an evening of celebration.
Begin with your first dance, cut the cake, and dance into the night as a DJ or live band provides the soundtrack.
With thoughtfully prepared evening bites and a relaxed, elegant atmosphere, the celebrations continue effortlessly - a chance to savour every moment with family and friends.

Poets House offers 21 luxurious bedrooms for you and your guests, each thoughtfully designed for comfort and style.
All of our bedrooms feature the stunning William Holland Copper bath, perfect for relaxation after your celebrations.
Enjoy breakfast the following morning in our Dining Room, or why not have breakfast in bed, with stunning views of the Cathedral from our Bridal Suite.
For exclusive-use weddings, the entire hotel is yours; including sole use of our courtyard garden, all public rooms and 21 boutique bedrooms.

On the day, you’ll be able to tour Poets House and see the ceremony and reception spaces dressed for a wedding.
